In the first half of 2024, CHN Energy produced 310 million tons of coal and sold 430 million tons. The company's power generation capacity reached 333 GW, with renewable energy accounting for 124 GW or 37.3% of the total. The power generation output was 594.9 billion kWh, while rail transport volumes reached 290 million tons, and two ports shipped 130 million tons of cargo. Additionally, the company produced 13.92 million tons of coal chemical products.

CHN Energy develops clean and renewable energy in a diversified, rapid, scientific, efficient, and large-scale manner. The Haiyuan 1 GW wind power project, part of the Ningxia Tengger Desert Energy Base, began construction. A series of 1 GW photovoltaic (PV) projects, including the one in Jingjie, were fully commissioned. The world's first low-temperature-resistant automated hydrogen fueling robot was deployed in Ordos, northern China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. China's first heavy-duty railway hydrogen refueling station and the Meiyu virtual energy storage power plant in Zhejiang entered commercial operation. In the first half of this year, CHN Energy commenced construction on 12.42 GW of new energy projects and put 9.06 GW into operation, with its total installed capacity of power generation surpassing 100 GW for the first time in history.

CHN Energy maintains balanced development of wind and PV projects, onshore and offshore projects, and centralized and distributed projects. Meanwhile, it advances the construction of large-scale energy bases in “deserts, Gobi, and barren lands”, accelerates the development of offshore wind power clusters, and leverages hydroelectric resources with adjustable output to develop “hydropower-PV complementary” projects. CHN Energy also strengthens refined management of new projects, expands and upgrades old wind farms, and enhances the utilization of wind and solar resources to maximize the benefits of existing projects. By the end of June 2024, CHN Energy's total installed capacity of new energy had doubled compared to that at the end of the 13th Five-Year Plan period (2016-2020).
